PLAY+ SOFT
Designed with Pedagogical Consultancy by Reggio Children®
PLAY+ SOFT was developed with pedagogical consultancy by Reggio Children, inspired by the educational philosophy of Loris Malaguzzi and the experience of the Municipal Infant-Toddler Centers and Preschools of Reggio Emilia. It brought together architects, designers, and educators to explore new forms of furniture specifically designed for early childhood environments.
The aim of the PLAY+ SOFT range is to enhance the material richness and sensory diversity of spaces for young children by introducing pliability, softness, and elasticity. A rich material landscape supports children in their learning journey and identity formation by sharpening their sensory perceptions and fostering the development of synesthetic abilities.
Each piece of PLAY+ SOFT furniture is designed to be flexible and adaptable. It can be transformed, moved, rolled, opened, and closed, changing in shape and size to suit different uses and contexts. The furniture is covered with Ecosoftx®, an environmentally friendly fabric that complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100, making it safe for direct skin contact. The fabric is produced through a non-polluting process and does not release harmful substances during use. It is also soft to the touch, water-repellent, easy to clean, mold-resistant, odourless, resistant to abrasion, colour-stable over time, and fire-retardant according to British Standard 5852:1990 and UNI 9175.
PLAY+ SOFT Colour Palette
PLAY+ SOFT introduces a range of pastel colours that can be mixed and matched or used within a single chromatic palette to create subtle overtone effects.

The goal is to enrich the chromatic landscape available to children by offering colours that go beyond the simplistic red-yellow-blue scheme, reflecting a belief in the competent child, capable of engaging with complexity and expressing themselves through a thousand languages.
